The home for the elderly and infirm "Pio" becomes a place of a special event every year – the blessing of the home and its residents. This year, on January 28, 2025, Fr. Josip Perić visited the home to conduct the traditional annual blessing. The event gathered residents, staff, and guests in prayer and gratitude for another year filled with community and care for the most vulnerable members of society.
The first blessing of the home "Pio" took place on December 4, 2022, marking the beginning of this noble tradition. Since then, Fr. Josip Perić has visited the home annually to bring peace and strength to all residents and staff through prayer and blessing.
The residents couldn’t hide their joy. "The blessing always brings us a sense of peace and safety. This is a special day for us," said one of the residents. The home’s staff also highlighted how events like these help strengthen the sense of community and provide extra motivation in their daily work.
The home "Pio" remains an example of a place where elderly and infirm individuals receive not only care but also a sense of warmth, community, and spiritual support. The blessing of the home has become an important symbol of this mission, and with God’s help, the tradition will continue in the years to come.
